Frits Lugt’s successors have continued to add to the collections, always endeavouring to sustain the high quality of the works acquired. They have also developed two new major streams: French nineteenth-century drawings, concentrating particularly on landscape (Michallon, Corot, Isabey, Daubigny…) and drawings of the Danish Golden Age (Abildgaard, Lundbye, Eckersberg, Hammershøi…).
