Watteau to Degas : French Drawings from the Frits Lugt Collection
A selection of 64 French 18th and 19th century drawings from the holdings of the Fondation Custodia is shown in The Frick Collection in New York. On view until 10 January 2010, the exhibition includes drawings and watercolours by well-known masters of the French School, including Watteau, Boucher, Fragonard, David, Corot, Delacroix, Ingres and Degas, as well as by important artists who may be less familiar to the general public. This is the first public exhibition in the States to focus on the French eighteenth- and nineteenth-century works on paper from the Collection Frits Lugt. The exhibition was organised by the Frick’s Associate Director and Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator Colin B. Bailey and Senior Curator Susan Grace Galassi and is accompanied by a catalogue (version both in English and French available). For more information see: The Frick Collection
Afterwards the exhibition will be presented at the Institut Néerlandais in Paris (11 February - 11 April 2010).

Maîtres du Nord. Tableaux du musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen
The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen is the fourth French museum to be invited by the Fondation Custodia to exhibit their Dutch and Flemish paintings in the Institut Néerlandais in Paris. Among the fine works selected we find a large diversity of artists and subjects: biblical and allegorical scenes by Maerten de Vos, Pieter Aertsen and Abraham Bloemaert, still-lifes by Willem Kalf and Jan Davidsz. de Heem and landscapes by Jan van Goyen, Allaert van Everdingen and Cornelis van Poelenburgh, to name but a few.
A catalogue (in French) will be published with colour illustrations.
